Activity: 08.03 - Build Release

In this activity, the release components are developed and compiled together to create a release package. Different test environments are built, deployment scripts are created, and release documentation is prepared.

Once the Release and Deployment planning is complete, the next step is to develop and create a Release Package in a standard, controlled and reproducible manner. The Release Manager should coordinate with the appropriate Delivery Teams to develop release components. The Delivery Team must then create a Release Package by compiling all release units, and deploy the Release Package into the test environment using a Deployment Script. The Release Package is tested in the test environment for accuracy and stability. The Release Manager must ensure that all relevant documentation (pertaining to that release) must be accurately created and shared with all stakeholders before the rollout. Release Manager must capture and record the risks and issues encountered during the process.
